Purpose Account:
The Grants and Business Development Manager will work as a resource in business development including sourcing grants, local fundraising focused on corporate engagement, and the establishment of grant systems and procedures in line with the Country Strategy
Accountabilities:
Resource mobilization coordination :
Work with leadership members and the Grants team to ensure a donor engagement plan is in place (complete with updated donor mapping, donor engagement tracking and updated action plans), and updated monthly.
Lead the process for identifying & exploring new fundraising opportunities, including a sound “go no go” mechanism ; review and summarize funding requirements from various donors; ethical check, evaluate & recommend response to fundraising opportunities.
Conduct biannual funding gap analysis to identify programs or sub-areas that require greater attention in terms of resource mobilization based on funding projection in the Country Strategy.
Donor/NO Relations
Hold early discussion with NOs and Donors to ensure that budgets submitted and Funding Bundle Agreement Documents (FADs) are fully costed (direct, shared direct and apportioned cost fully covered).

Ensure that projects managers, implementing partners and leadership team members understand and assimilate Plan and donor’s requirements in grants management based on Funding Bundle Agreement Documents (FADs) and donors’ contracts
Ensure a sound grants startup and closure mechanisms are in place and fully implemented.
Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge Essential
Master’s degree in social science, international development, international relations or related discipline ;
Substantial experience in the NGO sector ;
Demonstrated experience in managerial positions in the development sector ;
Demonstrated track record of writing project proposals and obtaining grant funding for development projects from institutional donors ;
Demonstrated success in directly managing the implementation and reporting requirements of grant funded projects and programs ;
